Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has announced the closure of four sites in West and North Wales on Friday 24 January due to the forecasted impact of Storm Éowyn.

The visitor centres at Coed y Brenin, Bwlch Nant yr Arian, and Ynyslas, as well as Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest, will be closed to the public on Friday.

People are also being urged not to visit other forests and reserves managed by NRW due to the risk of falling trees and branches due to high winds.

Nicholas Bettinson, Duty Tactical Manager for Natural Resources Wales, said:

In December, Storm Darragh damaged many trees in our forests, leaving them more vulnerable to future storms.
With strong winds expected from Storm Éowyn, there's a higher risk of falling trees and branches. It is therefore very important for people’s safety that they avoid visiting our forests and reserves on Friday.

With Storm Éowyn forecasted to bring strong winds on Friday, the Met Office has issued an Amber weather warning for wind, covering much of North Wales.
